Location
The Lewis County Historical Society is located in Lowville, New York, which is the county seat and largest village in Lewis County. We are located downtown in the historic former Masonic Lodge building – the Temple, as we call it.

Directions
If you are coming into Lowville from the West (e.g., Watertown, Adams Center, etc.), you’ll likely be on Dayan St. when you come into Lowville. Make a right at the “Four Corners” (the intersection of North and South State Street, Dayan Street and Shady Avenue), and we will be about 200 yards down the street on your left.
If you are coming into Lowville from the North (e.g., Carthage, Fort Drum, St. Lawrence County, etc.), you’ll likely be on North State St. when you come into Lowville. Go straight through the “Four Corners” and we will be about 200 yards down the street on your left.
If you are coming into Lowville from the South (e.g., Utica, Boonville, Snow Ridge, etc.), you’ll likely be on South State St. when you come into Lowville. Head into the center of the village and we will be on your right as you come into the downtown area.
If you are coming into Lowville from the East (e.g., Watson, Stillwater, parts of the Adirondacks), you’ll likely end up on North State Street or the Four Corners (in which case turn left) or South State Street (in which case turn right) and proceed as above.
Parking & Accessibility
Parking at the Lewis County Historical Society is free. We have public parking next to the Temple, and our own private parking behind the building. The main entrance to the Temple building is universally accessible, and one of our restrooms is fully accessible, as well.
